This plushie is representative of the long-horned bison (Bison latifrons) that lived in North America for about 200,000 years, until it went extinct about 23,000 years ago. Their giant horns were up to 7 feet long from tip to tip, and they were the largest known member of the cattle family. Many long-horned bison remains were discovered at the east end of Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California.
